A Stock Item is one raw material or supply you track in inventory - for example flour, milk, oil, or napkins. Create each item once, then keep quantities and values up to date.

Before you start

Open Stock Items

  1. In the sidebar, open Inventory, then Stock Item.
  2. You land on Stock Items. Summary cards show Total Stock Value, Restocked this week, and Low Stock Items.
  3. If the list is empty, you see No stock item found with + Add New Item in the center. You can also use + Add New at the top right.

Create a stock item

  1. Select + Add New Item or + Add New. The Create Stock Item form opens.
  2. Enter Item Name (required).
  3. Choose Measuring Unit (required). Tick Multiple Unit only when this item needs more than one unit.
  4. Set Default Price in Rs when you already know a usual rate.
  5. Choose a Group when you use stock groups (for example Vegetable or Grocery).

Opening Stock (optional)

Use the Opening Stock box when this item already has quantity on hand:

  • Quantity - how much you have now
  • Rate - cost per unit in Rs
  • Value - total value in Rs

Leave these at 0 if you will record stock later. Open Additional Details only when you need extra fields shown on the form.

Save

  1. Select Save Item. Use Reset if you need to clear the form and start again.
  2. The new row appears on Stock Items with columns such as Group, Opening, Closing, Stock Value, and Supplier.
