Think of one dish's journey. Mushroom Soup sits in a Category (Starters), the Category sits in a Sub Menu (Food Menu), and a Menu Set picks which Sub Menus a service shows.

  • Sub Menu - which big collection is this dish in? For example Food Menu or Bar Menu.
  • Category - which group inside that collection? For example Starters or Beverages.
  • Menu Set - which collections does this service use? For example Default Menuset for Dine In.

Every dish needs a Sub Menu and a Category. The Menu Set only matters when you want dine-in, delivery or other services to show different collections.
