How to Import Menu Items from Images

Import dishes from menu photos using Import From Images under More dish options.

Create dishes from menu photos with Import From Images when you already have a printed or digital menu image and want RestroX to extract dish details for you.

How to import menu items from images

  1. Open Menu, then Dishes.
  2. Click More dish options.
  3. Choose Import From Images. The Import Dish dialog opens.

Import Dish. Upload clear menu images, then continue with Next.

On the dialog:

  • Upload Image(s) - required. Click Click here to upload your image to add one or more menu photos.
  • Pro Tip - use clear images that show the dish details you need. The tip also shows how many image uploads you have left (up to 20 total).
  • Cancel - close the dialog without importing.
  • Next - continue after you upload images so you can review and save the extracted dishes.

Tip

If you have an Excel file instead of photos, use Import From Excel from More dish options. That flow includes a sample file download.

What happens next

Follow the on-screen steps after Next to review and save the imported dishes. They then appear on the Dishes list.
