Add a dish to your menu so kitchen and front of house can take orders for it.

Before you start

  • Create a Sub Menu (for example Food Menu or Bar Menu). Every dish needs one.
  • Create a Category (for example Breakfast or Beverages). Every dish needs one.

How to add a new dish

  1. Open Menu, then Dishes.
  2. Click + Add New. The Create Dish page opens.

Fill the required fields:

  • Dish Name - the name that appears on your menu (for example Mushroom Soup)
  • Sub-Menu - choose which collection this dish belongs to so you can organize and navigate your menus (for example Food Menu or Bar Menu)
  • Category - use this to group the dish so you can find and manage it quickly (for example Breakfast or Beverages)
  • Actual Price - the selling price of the dish

Optional fields:

  • Discount - enter an amount if you want a discount on the menu. The original price shows crossed out and the discounted price shows instead.
  • Dish Image / Upload Image - add a photo of the dish so guests can see the food when they order from Connect.
  • Dish Type - choose the type that fits the dish (for example Veg or Non-Veg).
  • Kitchen - choose the KOT type so the right kitchen station gets the ticket.
  • Add Variants - if this dish has more than one size or price, add variants here (for example Half and Full). See How to Set Multiple Prices for the Same Dish.
  • Add-Ons - extras guests can add when ordering (for example extra cheese). See How to Add New Add-Ons.

Click Save Dish to save, or Save & New to save and add another. Reset clears the form. Save Dish and Save & New stay disabled until the required fields are filled.

What happens next

The dish appears on the Dishes list. Use the Available switch on the list (not on the create form) to control whether guests can order it.

Keep going with these next steps.
