How to Link Stock Items to Menu Dishes
Map stock items and quantities to menu dishes (including Setup Stock Consumption on variants) for accurate deduction.
Linking stock items to menu dishes tells RestroX which raw ingredients (and how much) each dish uses. That mapping powers automatic stock deduction when you sell.
Before you start
- Create stock items for every ingredient you want to track - How to Add a New Stock Item.
- Have the dish (and variants, if any) ready in Menu - How to Add a New Dish.
Map ingredients to a dish
- Open Menu and open the dish you want to connect.
- Look for stock consumption setup on the dish or variant form. On variants this appears as Setup Stock Consumption among the pricing and cost fields.
- Map each raw Stock Item and the quantity used per dish (in the measuring unit of that stock item).
- Save the dish or variant so the link is stored.
Follow only the fields your screen shows. If a control name differs slightly in your build, use the on-screen stock consumption options on that dish.
Check the link from Inventory
Return to Inventory > Stock Item. After orders that include the dish, Closing and Consumption Rate should reflect usage. See How to Set Up Automatic Stock Deduction and Understanding Item Consumption.
What happens next
When recipes change, update the mapping so deductions stay correct. For a wider menu overview, use How to Setup Your Menu.
