Understanding Measuring Units
Use Measuring Unit under Inventory and choose units on Create Stock Item so quantities and deductions stay consistent.

Measuring units tell Inventory how to count each stock item - for example kilogram, liter, or piece. Pick the unit that matches how you buy and use the item.
Where units live
- In the sidebar, open Inventory, then Measuring Unit to review the units available for your restaurant.
- When you create a stock item, choose Measuring Unit on Create Stock Item. You can also tick Multiple Unit when one item needs more than one unit.
Good habits
- Use one primary unit per item whenever you can, so Quantity, Rate, and deductions stay easy to read.
- Align dish consumption quantities with the same unit family as the stock item (for example do not mix grams and kilograms without converting).
- Add or adjust units from Measuring Unit using the on-screen create and edit actions your build shows.
