Charts of Account organizes account heads into groups such as assets, liabilities, and equity so vouchers and reports stay structured.

Before you start

  • List the account heads your restaurant needs before renaming live accounts.
  • Avoid deleting heads that already have transactions.

Open Charts of Account

  1. Open Finance > Charts of Account.
  2. Create or edit account heads and place them under the correct parent group or subgroup.
  3. Keep classifications clear (for example asset versus liability) so reports roll up correctly.

Follow the labels on your Charts of Account page. You will see the same hierarchy later on statements such as Trial Balance.

See the hierarchy on Trial Balance

  1. Open Finance > Reports, then Trial Balance.
  2. Expand groups such as Asset, Current Assets, Customer Receivables, Cash and Bank, and Equity.
  3. Read opening, transaction, and closing debit/credit columns for each account.
