How to Merge More Tables

Combine multiple tables under one active order when a larger party needs more seats together.

Combine multiple tables together when a large group needs more seats under a single active order. Merging keeps one bill and one kitchen trail for the party.

When to merge

  • A walk-in group is larger than one table capacity.
  • Two small parties ask to sit together and share one check.
  • You already have an active order and need extra seats without starting a second bill.

How to merge tables

  1. Open Orders and review the Table tab so you know which seats are Open or Occupied.
  2. Open the primary active order for the party.
  3. Use the merge-tables action available on the order management screen for your role, select the additional tables to combine, and confirm.
  4. Verify the order still shows one Order Summary and that each merged seat reflects the shared party on the Table tab.

No merge dialog screenshot is included in this rewrite. Follow the on-screen merge labels in your restaurant and do not invent field names.

What happens next

Staff can keep adding dishes to the same order. If the group later splits the check, see How to Split Active Orders and Bills.
